A small field guide

A little help
for the journey.

Travel Bugs is still being built. Here’s what the current prototype can do, and what is still ahead.

Can I download Travel Bugs?

There is no public App Store or TestFlight download yet. The images and videos show the running development prototype. Release details and a public support contact have not been announced; this page will carry confirmed information when it is ready.

What can I see in the prototype?

The native iPhone app has procedural 3D islands, original animated Travel Bugs, a hidden geocache on every island, conversations, a passport and character selfies. A separate fictional demo lets a first traveller come aboard an airship, visit another island and leave a postcard.

Are the demo islands real destinations?

The demo islands are fictional and use simulated arrival. They do not prove a real visit or another player’s journey. Real nearby-place exploration uses location checks and keeps its local progress separate from the demo.

Can bugs travel between players?

That shared journey is part of the work in progress. Public accounts, the complete two-player handoff and notifications are not available through this website. The prototype’s local postcards are not messages from remote players.

Why does the app ask for permissions?

Foreground location finds nearby places and checks real arrival. The camera makes a selfie with your traveller. Permission to add to Photos is requested only if you choose Save. You can manage these permissions in iPhone Settings.

The demo journey does not need GPS. Simulator selfie footage uses a labelled illustrated background guide; it does not show an actual camera photo. See privacy and permissions for the current details.

Where can I ask for support?

A public support contact will be announced with release or beta details. There is no contact form or email collection on this website.
